Being a cephalosporin antibiotic, Vantin can be used to treat bacterial infections. It is able to affect the formation of the cell wall of bacteria, which leads to its death.
This medication can be used in treatment of gram-negative and -positive bacteria. It may be prescribed to people with the following health conditions:
Acute, uncomplicated anorectal infections in women;
Acute exacerbation of COPD;
Skin structure infections;
Acute, uncomplicated urethral and cervical gonorrhea;
Acute maxillary sinusitis;
